  • An Update of Sorts

    It’s true I haven’t xanga’ed a lot recently.  Because a lot of
stuff I just tell June, and that gets it out of my system.  Plus,
she gives me good feedback and props.  But there are a lot of
things I want to say to a larger audience, so here’s a big update.

    Relationship

    Q: When is the wedding?
A: We don’t know, sometime in the next 3-6 months hopefully.

    Q: Where will it be?
A: We don’t know, but the top three choices are Boston, California, and Trinidad.

Q: Which church will you go to (and rule)?
A: We don’t know.  Pray for us!

Q: What if I have other questions?
A: This Friday night (7/22) at 9:30, I will be hosting Highrock’s FNF
at my place.  June and I will give a Powerpoint presentation about
our fast relationship history, and you can ask us questions
there.  Everyone’s invited — email me for directions.

    Work

Lots of changes happening at work,
including mandatory 8AM start times.  This makes my eyes baggy and
tired.  The new VP has promised massive changes, so I’m curious
about the next few months.  Too bad I can’t write about rumors and
office gossip.  Stay tuned for more big news!

    Church

I’ll feel a lot more settled after
Highrock gets its new building (I joined the search committee in July
of 2003!).  Also I’ll feel more settled once June and I decide on
a church and begin working to get plugged in as a couple.  I was
looking through the Highrock Forums and kind of sad that I missed some
big events over the past few months.  Missing community.  :(   I wish more Highrockers played WoW!

    World of Warcraft

My main (character), Mithran, is now a
level 56 Paladin, but it’s taking about 15-20 hours per level
now.  Diminishing returns.  For variety, I started an alt
(alternate) named Mithrine, who is now a level 20 Hunter.  She
gets all kinds of random help and chatted up by guys — I guess girls
have to put up with that all the time.  I started a Hunter because
she can use the guns / scopes / bullets made by Mithran.  But
playing a Hunter is not that fun.  Too much micromanagement of
combat: cast Hunter’s Mark, set a trap, send in the pet, cast
Concussive Shot, cast Serpent’s Sting, bring the pet back, cast Raptor
Strike…  My paladin just casts Seal of Command and runs in
swinging his big axe.  Back when I played Diablo 2,
my favorite character was the Assassin specializing in traps.
Then I would just run around casting lightning traps at random.
Everyone dies, and I pick up the loot.  That’s when I learned that
I hate micromanaging combat.  In WoW, I’ll keep trying characters
until I find the one with least micromanagement (work).
