Heh someone else was mentioning this to me too. I tried looking it up and the best I’ve found is that you can wash potatoes in the dishwasher: http://www.potatoes.com/RecipesAndCooking.cfm?RecipeSub=SelectionAndCooking “Potatoes can be arranged flat in dish racksand run through the dishwasher WITHOUT detergent.”
Seems like you could cook them this way too, I’d worry about getting the settings right so that they don’t disintegrate though.
Don’t potatoes take forever to bake though? I don’t think it’s the same as a fish or whatever else you usually can cooke in a dishwasher.
try the microwave.. AFTER you washed them.
Wow, that is a lot of information on potatoes.com. I just threw in a few with dishes and detergent; I figured everything would come out clean. They probably won’t cook (the website says 20-30 minutes for boiling, which is hotter than the dishwasher), but it might be a good start. But extra work to transfer them to a pot or oven while they’re hot. Either way, it’s probably a wash.
hahaha, inventive however it sounds like a waste of water.
wait–you threw in a few WITH detergent? i hope you didn’t eat them!
Takes a REALLY LONG TIME to cook a potato all the way through… do you have a super-long cycle?
…..that’s really kinda nasty…
oops! that’s me, serena (sereena_eena_babeena)
Soemthings wrong. The sooner I am back the better!
i vote for the microwave, after hand-washing them.
